Over the last month, it has been a very busy time for the Railway. We have played host to Santa and his elves, as well as the Christmas Carols and Jazz trains and our Winter Diesel Gala all proving very popular. As you may be aware, the railway suffered a break in just before Christmas where a large number of Model Railway items, in both N and OO Scale where stolen. We believe he was on site from around 0130 until 0230 on Friday, December 19th 2014, forcing entry through a Buffet window, and leaving via a Fire Exit.  If you can help the Police with their investigation, please contact PC Julie Fuller at Dereham Police Station, Norfolk Constabulary on 101.
You would be forgiven for thinking now the 2014 Season is over, its all easy sailing until the line10904644_1010097222350380_7792363683611217384_o reopens to the first scheduled passengers on February 28th. There is a lot of work to be done this season, and every season between trains. It is a time where the Engineering teams and Signal & Telegraph can access the line. It is also a great chance to catch up with Training & Assessments.Last Weekend more progress continues to be made north of Dereham, a train ventured further north than any MNR train has been before to deliver new sleepers to the worksite south of bridge 1702. 22 sleepers were replaced by our volunteers. Additional volunteers are always welcome to help most Sunday’s, there’s plenty to do including vegetation clearance as well as track work. To get involved, e-mail northern.section@mnr.org.uk
